Opera One: Modern Seniors Program - Mid Summer Dinner Delivery Service
The Opera One Association will provide dinner delivery services to seniors (age 55+) in Scarborough and Markham from August 10 to September 4, 2020. Dinner will be supplied by five well known restaurants.
Area of delivery service: bounded by Hwy 401; Denison Street; Markham Road; Victoria Park Avenue.

This service is funded by Government of Canada through the New Horizons for Seniors Program in support of seniors in our community who is under mandated or voluntary isolation.

On August 14, 2020, Kenneth from Omni TV in Toronto interviewed Julia Wong, a consultant and project manager at Opera One. The topic was their Mid-Summer Dinner Delivery Service, a meal delivery operation aimed at serving isolated elderly. Despite the easing of social distancing measures, many elderlies still felt uneasy about going out to eat and there was a high demand for food delivery services. Opera One partnered with local restaurants to launch the service and Julia Wong gave insights into the operation.
