About Us

 

The Opera One Association, also known as “Opera One”, is a registered charitable organization in Canada. Our mission is to promote social wellbeing in our community and assist everyone to lead a more meaningful, more active, more prosperous, healthier and happier life. We commit to serve all members in our community regardless of age, gender, race, colour, ethnic origin, religious, linguistic or demographic background.           (Refer to Our Policies.)

We began as a group of volunteers who enjoy fun-filled activities in music and theatrical arts. The group over time evolved to become a structured organization, with a board of directors, treasurer, external auditor, advisors, program managers and regular volunteers for specific functions. Our organizers meet regularly to discuss Opera One’s businesses, and our members often gather for the practice and rehearsal of their opera and musical activities.

During the past two decades, we organized charitable events, provided entertainment performances, and run fundraising functions. We performed about 100 times a year, some of which were theatrical and orchestra productions in local theatres. We are all volunteers and our performances are not financially compensated. We act out of our benevolence for the care of fellow residents in the community, especially those who are less advantaged.

We are on a journey to our objectives.

Working toward our objectives, we need a team of motivated and unified participants who share our vision, values and objectives. Through participation, we hope to expand our services and be recognized for prospective partnership in joint functions in the community.
