Alex Fok, CEO & Managing Director Alex Fok is the CEO and Managing Director of Opera One – providing leadership and strategic direction for the overall mission of the organization, including programming and outreach, revenue generation and business administration activities. He oversees finance, communications and branding, services modeling, funding modeling space management, capital project management, governance for Opera One and brings over 15 years of experience across a range of non-profit and charitable functions.
He is also actively engaged in community governance. He has served on many non-profit committees.
Alex Fok is an architect practicing in Ontario. He has his own design firm. When not practicing architecture, Alex enjoys engaging with the local community in promoting various charitable causes and social wellbeing initiatives. Outside of work, Alex assists in various mentorship programs and enjoys music and theatrical arts.
Anna Wong, Director Anna Wong was born in Hong Kong where she attended primary school. She moved to Canada where she completed high school and her under-graduate degree in Sociology at the University of Toronto. She then further her education in Social Works at the graduate school of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Upon returning to Canada, Anna worked for the social works department of the Region of Peel ever since.
For the last fifteen years Anna served with Scouts Canada in the capacities of Treasurer and Group Commissioner.
We are pleased that Anna has brought with her extensive experiences, knowledge and leadership in social services to Opera One when she join our Board of Directors.
Charles Wong, Director Charles Wong grewn up in Montreal and graduated from McGill University, School of Engineering. His was surrounded by charitable organizations and has immersed hem-self into the world of Not-Profit and Charitable work since adolescent. He plans to bring his experience and passion to Opera One and assist in various service areas. When not practicing engineering, Charles enjoys engaging with the community in promoting various charitable causes and social wellbeing initiatives.
David Ho, Director David Ho is a retired Chartered Accountant who works as the principal of his own accounting practice in Toronto. He has decades of Canadian experience in industrial accounting and tax auditing. He has made extremely helpful contribution in our financial planning and the design of our funding model. We are very happy to have him as a member of our Board of Directors.
Wai-Kim Lee, Director, Treasurer Wai-Kim Lee was born and raised in Hong Kong, studied in Canada, is a registered professional engineer in Ontario, he has worked in Canada and the United States for many years. Later, he joined the non-profit humanity industry, had stationed and led multiple community development projects in the mountainous areas of mainland China for many years. Now back in Toronto, serving the vulnerable people in the mainstream communities. Personal Believe Proverbs: The glory of young men is their strength, gray hair the splendor of the old. He wishes that every senior lives an elegant and wonderful life.
Dr. Jason Kwok, Board Advisor Dr. Kwok is a practising family doctor who spend a lot of his time in charitable work. On top of his very busy medical practice he made considerable contribution through support and participation in church and community activities.
He makes regular article contribution to medical column in local newspaper and newsletters. He also appears regularly on TV and radio interviews, giving public talks on medical and health related topics. He is a Certified Tai Chi Instructor and is a very active volunteer Tai Chi instructor for many sport clubs and communities.
Dr. Kwok is truly a person of many talents. He has made invaluable contribution to Opera One as an advisor to our board in many different areas of activities.
Julia Wong, Board Advisor Julia Wong is the co-ordinator and founder of Julia Wong & Friends (閨秀愛心), a volunteer group who serves seniors in long-term care homes and seniors in our community with their love and heart performing Cantonese opera, songs, dances, Tai-Chi and drama since 2000.
Julia gladly shares her experience and contributes her precious time and great efforts to Opera One and seniors in our community.
Rosanna Wong, Program Manager Rosanna Wong grew up in Hong Kong, after immigrated to Canada, she worked for a well-known developer in Ontario as a project administrator. After retirement, Rosanna works tirelessly for Opera One as a program manager.
Lisan Cheung, Choreographer/Dance Instructor Lisan Cheung is a well-known choreographer in Toronto. She is responsible for creating and organizing dance routines for our stage production, theatric shows and other mediums. She works with dancers and other performers to develop and rehearse dance sequences; and is also responsible for selecting music, costumes, and props.
Lisa Lee, Choreographer/Dance Instructor Lisa Lee is responsible for creating and organizing dance routines for many of Opera One’s various stage performances and musical suites. She has a comprehensive understanding of dance technique and demonstrates strong creative and problem-solving skills. Lisa has been responsible for developing and rehearsing dance sequences as well as selecting music, costumes and props for many of our stage and theater productions.
Donna Tse, On-Line Program Production Manager Donna Tse oversees the production of our on-line programs and content: such as webinars, e-learning courses, and digital events. This includes managing program schedules, our team of designers, developers, and other production staffs. She also ensures the final production meets quality standards of Opera One and is delivered in timely manner.
